COMPASS PARENT PORTAL INFORMATION
Once a student is enrolled at St John’s Primary parents will be given access to our COMPASS Parent Portal. The portal may be accessed via the App store or Google Apps or on a computer. You will need to create an account and search for our school. Our school name is St John’s Catholic Primary School Dubbo.
Parents will be given a Username and temporary password to login to the portal. Once parents have logged into the portal you will be asked to change your password. Once you have logged in to the portal you will have access to:
When you leave the school your account will be cancelled and you will no longer have access to your child’s reports, so it is a good idea to save or print your child’s once you have gained access.

- View your child’s school reports.
- Receive newsletters and notifications about what is happening in our school.
- Approve and consent to school excursions and I.T Policies
- Pay School Fees

Parent information nights are held early in Term One. Formal parent/teacher interviews are held at the end of term one, but should you wish to speak to your child‟s class teacher, please do not hesitate to make an appointment. Appointments can be made for either before or after school by contacting the school secretary or class teacher.

NEWSLETTER
A school newsletter is available every Monday in the Newsletter Archive section of this website or via Compass School Manager, to inform you of happenings, events and general information.

STUDENT ABSENCES
It is a requirement that parents inform the school in writing if you know in advance that your child will be absent from school. If your child is away for a short time there is no necessity to telephone the school. However, please ensure that you record absences through Compass School Manager. Please only submit full day absences, any partial day, late to school or early pick up will be entered via the school office.
If parents intend taking their children out of school for short or long periods, they should apply in writing to the principal using either a ‘Full Day/s Absence form for periods of 1-9 days or form A1 – Application for Extended Leave for periods of 10 days and over. Exemption granted by the Principal is required in order to satisfy legal obligations.
