OUR HISTORY

St John's Primary School Dubbo was established in 1969 with the late Sister Lelia as Principal and Brother Theodore OShannessy as Assistant Principal. This school was formed by combining the primary girls from St. Patrick's Convent and the primary boys from St. Johns School. The boys school was situated at the De La Salle Monastery in George Street.
St John’s Primary School moved to its current location in Sheraton Road in 2006 where it currently caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In 2019 St John’s celebrated the 50 years of quality catholic education in Dubbo. Fifty years ago two schools came together, De La Salle Brothers and St. Patrick's girls' Convent, they merged to form St John's Primary School. New Outdoor Learning Places have been established to honour the charisms that form our school, the Mercy traditions founded by Catherine McAuley and De La Salle Brothers founded by John Baptist De La Salle. The two new learning areas have been landscaped with water saving gardens and sandstone seating
